Can someone help me not be terrified of ovens

Im cooking at the moment and I had to turn off the oven because the pan lifted in the corner inside the oven? I set the oven to 425 and have chicken breasts marinated with olive oil and spices…. i’m about to move the chicken to fire right now, but I just wanted to see if anybody can help me understand why it does that and if it’s normal or not. I genuinely still want to bake the chicken, but I’m genuinely terrified. I’m getting mixed reviews online and just wanted to see if anybody can help me out. Thank you.

The last incident I had from the oven was that I didn’t notice some leftover spillage of olive oil and I ended up almost causing a fire and filled up my whole house with black smoke so I’m very hesitant in using the oven because I don’t understand it or I’m not used to it. Anything helps thank you.
