Baking turkey without butter

Sorry for what I'm sure is a basic question, but I'm a beginner. I'm cooking thanksgiving dinner this year and the recipe I used for turkey in the past calls for butter to be used (under the skin) and previously it turned out excellent. Due to an allergy we can't use butter this year. What should I use as a substitute? Do I even need a substitute as I cook it breast down, or is the butter just for extra flavor? Normally I cook poultry with EVOO but I'm worried because my recipe calls for a cool temp of 425 and EVOO has a low smoke point. I have tried avocado oil in the past and didn't love the flavor (personal preference).
