Bump in the bottom of roasting pot - working as designed or flawed?

I have a large enameled roasting pot. Lately, I've noticed a weird issue with it: there's a noticable bump in the bottom. Oil sinks to the sides and does not adhere to the center, making browing food such as chicken difficult. For example, the other day I tried browning some beef, but the beef in the center had no contact with oil and thus burnt/left a charred crust on the bottom.

Is the pot working as intended or is this a malfunction? I'm inexperienced with this type of pot so forgive me if it's a silly question. Thank you very much!
