Substitute for nuts in Baklava

Hi everyone, I'm making baklavas and I have to substitute the nuts in the recipe. I read a similar post from a year ago and some people answered to substitute them with either roasted chickpeas or pretzels. I have both but I'm wondering if anyone knows the longevity of both in baklava. Would either get mushy on the second day? In my experience, roasted chickpeas get soft on their own by day 2 and I feel like the pretzels would basically soften like bread once I pour the syrup. Thanks!!
