I saw my mom use a knife sharpener, you know the one that looks like a giant rod that comes with a knife block, to make a hole in the chicken breast she was cooking. I got in a fight with her about it, claiming that was gross and there would be metal pieces in the chicken because I assume whatever metal bits come off the knife is stuck to the sharpener. Obviously I didn't win the fight. Is it safe to ingest?
