Is there any good reason not to buy boiled eggs?

At the grocery store, I sometimes see bags of hard boiled eggs ready to go. I’m a fan of egg salad, and these seem like they might be a convenient option to save a step in the preparation. Not to mention- im not very good at boiling eggs (how embarrassing) and I usually break one or two of them when I boil a whole batch

I got into cooking mostly through YouTube cooking channels, and most YouTubers (understandably) advocate for/demonstrate their recipes starting from nothing but scratch, and not using any pre-prepared ingredients.

So I guess im wondering from y’all if there’s any reason I should continue boiling my own eggs and not purchase hard boiled eggs. Is there a weird chemical preservative? Are they gross on the inside? Is there anything I should keep in mind when shopping for them?
