Chicken Crackling in the Oven?

I don’t cook chicken legs all that often (maybe three times now?) so I was wondering; are chicken legs supposed to crackle in the oven? They’re lightly coated with oil and spices (aka I just dunked them in a bowl of oil and spices) and then put in the oven preheated to 425. I just wanna know if it’s potentially dangerous or not.
