I was gifted a 1.25 gallon container of BBQ sauce. What is the best way to put this safely in smaller bottles to give away or use?

A vendor gave it to me. This is a BBQ sauce I like (Head Country Hot and Spicy). But, I've not opened it because I have no room in my fridge for such a large bottle. It expires at the end of 2024.

Is there a special way I need to separate this into smaller bottles to give to people (and keep a few for myself)? I assume it needs to be immediately refrigerated. It is in a plastic bottle currently so not sure if I would need glass ones or not?

Any help appreciated.
