Used soil to adhere salt to dry brine steak. Did I screw it up?

My wife and I bough two nice ribeyes for dinner tonight and decided to dry brine for the first time. I said we should put on them to help the salt adhere.

Im doing more research and realized I should not have done that.

Did I screw them up? Im worries that the steaks will have an oily taste. We used avocado oil.
