Pizza stone for making quesadillas on a grill?

I was thinking it would be handy if I could make the quesadillas on the same grill I cook the meat on and the thought of using a pizza stone came to mind. I have half a broken pizza stone that actually fits kinda perfectly on one side of my 22" Weber kettle, so my thought is to throw that on and let it heat up while I cook the meat then form the quesadillas on it and use the bottom of cast iron pan to press them down and close the lid for a couple minutes.

Anybody have any thoughts on how well this may or may not work? Have a better method for doing quesadillas on a charcoal grill?
