I just got an immersion blender and some ceramic pans as wedding gifts. My immersion blender has a metal guard around the blades. The blender made light scratches on my pans when the guard came into contact with the pans. I haven't used an immersion blender before so I didn't realize it would suction down to the pan. Should I only use an immersion blender with stainless steel, or is there some way I can prevent the two from coming in contact with each other?
