Good spicy machaca beef

There’s a New Mexican restaurant we LOVE and the have the best, tastiest, spicy machaca beef. I’m from Phoenix and love Mexican/New Mexican food. This machaca is seriously the best I’ve ever had. I’ve made machaca in the past but it always fall short. Any suggestions or ideas on how to elevate machaca?
