Baking Steel 1st Use

I just received 2 half-sized baking steels. I have a very small oven and can only fit one per rack.

My first question is can I season both at once with one in the middle rack and one on the bottom or do I need to do them separately?

My second question is in regards to using them for baking. It's advertised as evening out oven temperature, if kept on the bottom rack. So, should I leave one on the bottom rack and place my baking sheet directly on a second steel on the middle rack?
