Taffy making gone wrong.

Hi everyone. Today I tried to make saltwater taffy and it would not harden or get airy/lighter in color at all. I think we may need to cook the sugar mixture longer but wanted to ask you guys. I know this is better for r/candymaking but it wouldn’t let me post for some reason.

Here is the recipe:

2 c sugar 1.5 c water 1 c corn syrup 1 tsp salt 1 T edible glycerin 2 T butter

Dissolve everything but the butter over low heat. Bring the heat up to medium high and stir until it reaches a boil. Insert candy thermometer until mixture reaches 250F. Remove from heat and add butter until its melted. Then, pour onto an oiled cooled sheet tray.

Some notes… - Added 1/8 tsp of malic acid and 1/2 tsp of blue raspberry flavoring to the mix with the butter - Didn’t get the sheet pan cooled so it was 75F because its hot in our kitchen (no A/C). Humidity is about 25-30% (in Montana). - Wore nitrile gloves and sprayed with cooking spray before working with it. Waited for the mixture to be cool enough.
