How do I get a strong wine taste in my beef stroganoff?

So I've made it a few times and it is always good however, it is nothing compared to my mother's who somehow always manages to make hers have a consistent bold wine flavor. When I ask Uber she says she just uses a dry red wine. I do the same but the results are never the same.

The recipe I use involves wine, beef broth and sour cream
