Super fatty short ribs?

Hi guys, I'm making braised short ribs for the first time. They're currently in my slow cooker, but they seem awfully fatty. Like, potentially little to no meat left once they come out of the crock pot. Did I just buy crappy ribs? I know short ribs are generally a fatty piece of meat, but it seems like such a waste of money considering how little meat I'm actually getting.
