What to look for when buying a big pan to cook things like potato hash/refriend beans?

I just need a larger pan to cook multiple portions of meals at once. I'm kind of young, have never bought my own pan before, don't really know what to look for.

I'm honestly hoping to get something from Ross in the $30 range. Unless going up in price has a big payoff in quality. Maybe it doesn't, I don't know.

Also in general wondering if there are any other things to look for like material type.
