I made quick pickled red onions with vinegar, water, salt, and sugar. After pouring the liquid into the jars and the remaining little bit in the sink, I put the pot on the still on burner. Big mistake. Now the residue is burnt on to a dark brown color that won't come off with a rough sponge and soap with a lot of force. Can I boil vinegar or soak with it? Lemon juice? Any other typical household substance thats normally unsafe but it'll be fine after rinsing?
