Black spots on the inside of a new stock pot - is this a concern?

Hi everyone, something a bit different I’m seeking guidance on. I recently bought a new stock pot for Pho & soups & such. I used for it for the first time as a water bath for some kaya I was making, and afterwards as I cleaned it I found this spotting around the inside of the pot - possibly where the base joins to the side?

I’ve never seen this before with any pots I’ve used and I’m wondering if anyone knows if this is a defect or what exactly it might be. Thanks in advance!
