I want to try baklava. I've never had it because I am allergic to walnuts, and those seem to be the most commonly used. I plan on making some myself so I know it is safe, and want to avoid walnuts and hazelnuts in it. What would you recommend as the best nut to use in its place?

Walnuts I am certainly allergic to. Hazelnuts I am not sure about. I felt weird after trying nutella (first time trying anything with hazelnuts) and not sure if I actually am allergic as it isn't something I want to experiment with.

So what would you guys use?
