Why isn't chicken much more expensive than beef/steak?

This is probably a really stupid question, but I'm a vegetarian so I'm not that knowledgeable about this sort of thing. But, as I see it, chickens are a lot smaller. Although you can raise them with much less food and resources, one is still 400 times lighter than a full grown bull. Although the square-cube law does mean there's not 400 times more meat, there should be much more, right?
