Slow Cooker and Soup

I throw ~10 pieces of chicken thighs in a slow cooker and I add two cans of soup. It's been on high for almost 3 hours now, but when I went to inspect it I found the dish at the tipping point of being overflowing with the water and soup and the chicken don't look fully cooked at all. I feel like I mistake by adding soup to the slow cooker which made the chicken not cook thoroughly. Is my conclusion accurate? After dumping some of the liquid out of the dish should I let it cook more than 4 hours?

Edit: this is my first time using the slow cooker, I don't know how the chicken should look in the 3rd or 4th hour.
