Have any of you made crepe cake with cake batter?

I reallllyyy wanted to make a crepe cake. But I heard the texture can feel like rubber if you use pancake (european) batter. I saw some recipes use cake mix to make the crepes. But I'm not sure if it's gonna turn out good. Need some expert opinion here, cuz I have no experience in making desserts. Does the cake taste better if made using cake batter? And if I make it using pancake batter does it taste rubbery?
