Start steak and side now , finish later

I wanted to cook a steak for my grandpa tomorrow (Monday) and let him finish cooking it Tuesday (on stove or oven). Is this a good idea and if so what’s the best approach; or should I just cook it through and let him reheat it? Goal is just to get him the best result. Thanks for the advice!!
