I bought a large bag of dried Fava beans recently and just tried to soak them overnight yesterday. I put about half a pound with five cups of water, but now after about 8 hours they have not even soaked up half the water. If even that. In pictures online they look large and juicy after soaking, but mine are still quite small and look like they’ve just taken on a tiny bit of water.
Any thoughts on what’s happening?
Also happy for ideas on what to do with Fava beans. I’ve only had them fresh with a beer before, but wanted to try out other things as I got a good deal.
