Light cream (table cream)

I’m trying to make sauce for a pasta recipe that I have and I’ve run into a small problem. Due to Covid I’m trying to stay away from the supermarket as much as possible and I only have one can of light cream (table cream)at home. It comes in a can yet the expiration date was in 2018. It doesn’t have any particular bad smell but I can see it has some small solid parts. My friend claims it should be fine but my gut is telling me no. I decided to come in here and ask if there’s any risk in using this. Thank you in advance.
