What is the texture of a cooked falafel supposed to be like?

I’ve never had falafel in my life and today I tried a recipe that says to fry it at 360 F and they should brown on each side for 3 minutes and mine got brown really quickly. I think mine are undercooked, it was like eating less crunchy finely chopped peanuts and I don’t think the texture is supposed to be like that.
