How do you guys store your knives?

Currently, the majority of our knives in the apartment bang around the drawer, while I have a few good ones in a knife bag. The knife bag protects, but when I want to use one, it's a pain to take it out and then store it back in. The total collection sits at 6 chef knives (all but one are crappy), a bread knife, and a vegetable cleaver. Will get, at least, 2 japanese cleaves and probably a paring knife at some point. With this random assortment, no knife block makes sense... What do I do? Thanks
