Freezing Trays Of Uni

Does anyone have experience freezing uni?

I understand that once frozen and thawed, the uni will be really mushy. Is their a method to prevent or reduce the loss in texture when freezing?

The reason for wanting to freeze uni is because I will be going to be going to a Japanese market that is 2-3 hours out of the way so it will not be convenient for me to go to it every time I need uni. I planned on buying 3-4 trays of it just to have it stocked.
