How can I store pizza dough that isn't ready to be used?

So I made some dough last night via https://www.seriouseats.com/recipes/2013/01/foolproof-pan-pizza-recipe.html but I ran out of time today to have the two hours for it to rest before cooking. I may be able to make it tomorrow or Saturday but I'm wondering if I should just leave it out at room temp, or store it in the fridge and if so what should I store it in? Does the container need to be air tight? I'd hate for this to go to waste.
