If you made muffins but didn't bake all of the batter could you save the batter for later?

Does batter expire within a day or two? I wanted to see if I could somehow freeze prep the batter and thaw & bake extremely small muffin batches for the next few days daily is that stupid?

Edit - I would like to add one more question.

How can I make my muffins not so soggy after letting them rest?

(Like store bought ones are firm and some have a bit of a outer crunch taste to them.)
