How to cook brisket in a regular oven without having it taste like stew?

It seems to taste and have texture like stew when I cook it in the oven, as opposed to brisket you get at a BBQ place which has totally different flavor profile and texture. Mine tastes like pot roast.

I'm aware that the BBQ places usually use smokers and other stuff.

Is there any way I can get it closer to the BBQ brisket using an oven and stovetop?
