New green onion slicer creates too much juice

I bought a green onion slicer from Japan to cut down my prep time and it works great except when compared to a knife it creates too much juice when stored (I think it cuts it too thin making the juice come out more) does anybody else have this problem?

My process is that I wash the green onions, let it dry in the fridge overnight uncovered, cut and then put into a cambro container lined with paper towels.
