I'm looking into peddling stroopwafels at a local farmers market, but am faced with the issue of finding an iron that a) works for food code, and b) works on either the US grid (preferable) or can run on gas.
I grew up in a town that had a local tulip festival with some stands set up for this, so I know there is a way.
I'm guessing people just operate using import equipment, I don't think there are any domestic producers of commercial stroopwafelijzers. New Mexico food code seems to be fairly strict on wanting kitchen equipment certified by an ANSI program (NSF, etc.), which the EU of course doesn't use, so if anyone has any insights regarding the process of getting the equipment to pass.
Also, along the lines if import equipment, is there a safe way to hook it up to the US grid? I doubt a best buy wall jack adapter would be safe for the equipment being it is a heater, nor pass an inspection from the health department.
