Frying a turkey first time. Marinade? Dry rub? Brine?

Hey all. Frying my first turkey, it’s only a 12 pounder since it’s the first time and we’re taking every possible precaution to make sure this goes as safely as possible. But in terms of technique I’m not sure what’s best? A dry rub? A brine? An injector? I know I need the bird DRY before it goes in the pot
