Hi everyone, I am trying to gather all of the tools and equipment needed to make tomato sauce like my late Italian grandparents made. From what I remember, we used a large propane burner, a very large pot, large wooden spoon, and a tomato milling machine.
All of their old equipment was claimed by various family members and I have none of it. I want to buy all of it and make sauce at the end of summer like we used to when I was a kid. I believe we used to buy around 200lbs worth of Roma tomatoes in August and use garden grown basil.
I live in Canada if it makes a difference on your recommendations. So far I have found a tomato milling machine (Fabio Leonardi https://www.consiglioskitchenware.com/collections/fabio-leonardi-canada/products/fabio-leonardi-mr0-1-2-hp-sp5-tomato-machine-made-in-italy), a propane burner (https://a.co/d/hEB2IOq), and a wooden spoon. I’m still looking for a large pot but not sure about size and what metal (SS or Aluminum). Was hoping someone here could provide some guidance/advice. Where to purchase, what to get, etc. Thanks everyone!
