Qdding dark chocolate and sugar to substitue for semi sweet chocolate chips.

So I'm going to make brownies and need 2 cups semi sweet chocolate chips. I have dark chocolate chips. Am I able to use 2 cups chocolate chips and use sugar to keep it from being bitter? FYI this is in the process of melting the butter and chocolate chips together.
