What are these strange growths on the chocolate? I believe they might be fat blooms but want to make sure I am not eating bacterial colonies or something.
It is supposed to be toffee. I made it ~3 days ago, they are stored at about 80F in an airtight container. I did add too much butter, so there is a lot of caked/leftover fat. The growths are on most of the pieces, chocolate only.
