My pure sucralose powder turned black and smokes when I open it. It's about 5 years old. The smoke seems caustic and stops when I close the lid.

I couldn't find any references on this. Any idea what happened? I have 10 year old neotame and it's good as new. Obviously the sucralose is being tossed out, but I wonder if others have seen this or if it can go bad without changing color?
