Adjusting Brownie Recipe to Pan Size?

I'm following a brownie recipe designed for an 8x8x2in pan but would prefer to use an 8x11.5x2in pan I have on hand. I tried reading a few articles, but there doesn't seem to be a straightforward approach to this problem the way there is with simply doubling a recipe. Is there a better method than just increasing the recipe 1.5x and praying?
