Buying vacuum sealer: New or Used?

I'm looking to invest in a vacuum sealer. It will predominantly be used for sous vide cooking or storing leftovers both dry and wet (predominantly stews and chili's)

My parents foodsaver seems to last forever but they're meticulous with its upkeep. Anyone have negative experiences with buying used and recommends finding one new on sale?
